Assarranca Explosion

Capturing this waterfall in full spate is a spectacle, an event. Natures majesty demands your attention as every sense you have is overwhelmed.

Even in the depths of winter smells of peat and moss stuff themselves up your nose as the mist is everywhere. The thunder of the triple falls is felt through your feet and the roar in your ears is immense.

With this shot I wanted to pull out the details of the energy in the falls. These infinite explosions as each giga-gallon of peaty upland water pounds off the rocks.
